Special Snacks and Drinks:
-"Spritz al Bitter" - An aperitif….. in the late afternoon
you’ll notice people sitting in outdoor cafes and bars enjoying
their aperitif. Try a spritz or prosecco for a nice way to enjoy the end
of a special Venetian afternoon.
-"Prosecco - Bellini - Tea" with a view - Gritti Palace Hotel
Terrace Bar on the Grand Canal for an elegant afternoon drink or tea.
-"Cicchetti" - Typical Venetian snacks, bites or tapas you can
enjoy late morning or late afternoon. In the Dorsoduro District: Al Bottegon
già Schiavi on Rio de San Trovaso is great for Venetian "ombra"
and "cicchetti".
-"Gelato" - Head next door for the best Pistachio ice cream
at Gelateria San Trovaso. Another great gelato place is Il Doge, which
is close by in Campo Santa Margherita.
-"Incredible Hot Chocolate" with fresh whip cream – Cafè
Florian in Piazza San Marco---go to the back bar where you can sit at
the bar stools and read the international newspapers and get a discount
off the table prices...and sip this most wonderful treat!
Some Favorite Restaurants:
-"A Beccafico" delightful sea food with Tunisian touch, huge
portions easy to share. The seabass/branzino sotto sale or the mussel
soup steamed in their own liquid under pizza crust are our favorite. Ask
for Adeli or his brother Dali. Located in lovely Campo Santo Stefano great
out door dininig. Tel. 041 5274879 www.abeccafico.com
-"Do Farai" – situated in the Dorsoduro district and specialize
in fish, shellfish dishes and table side “carpaccio” of sea
bass. Tell the owners Dino and Stefano that I say "Hello Boys".

an array of vegetables or a nice big salad - situated in the Dorsoduro
district along the Rio della Toletta.

place for lunch when you are out exploring the Castello District of Venice.
Sebastiano the owner is the son of Lele from Murano and restaurant genes
don’t get much better than that!!! Tel. 041 522 90 38
-"Busa della Torre (Da Lele)" – Murano - the food and
dining experience are wonderful and when I was working with the designers
to create all of the Murano Glass for the Bellagio Hotel in LasVegas,
I would call Lele and tell him “butta il riso” as it takes
20 minutes to make and I was on an American’s non leisure lunch
schedule of...30 minutes! When we finally arrived at the restaurant they
would escort us to our table and 2 minutes later we had a steaming plate
of Porcini Funghi Risotto..Lele told me: ”Only because it is you
Leslie”……got to luv him and his cooking!!

Points of Interests:
-"Great walk and area to get lost in" - The Dorsoduro Area of
Venice. My Studio is located in the heart of it and getting lost in this
area is the best thing that will happen to you in Venice! Stop in my Studio
when you are over here and I will point out on your map some of the great
sites and things to do here.
-"Rialto Market" – An incredible fish, fruit and vegetable
market which you should see early in the morning and then stop for a cicchetti
in one of the many great little eateries along the way. -"Churches
and Synagogues" – Santa Maria dei Miracoli, La Salute, Basilica
of San Marco (upstairs), Chiesa di San Pantalon for fresco ceiling, Chiesa
di Santi Giovanni e Paolo,-Venice’s largest church and also final
resting place for 25 of Venice’s Doges, Ghetto ....and the list
could go on and on.
-"Great View" - Campanile di San Giorgio on the Island of San
Giorgio for a fantastic view over Venice and a better view of San Marco
without the crowds.
Stay in touch and I will be adding to this list in the near future. “Se
vedemo a Venezia!!!”
